Video from Day 3 and the morning after
Making the final day, and down to the final 2 tables. Finishing well in the money at 17th place. And more importantly I am 2-0 on my prop bets with Gregg. Maybe I will give him hand in washing all of those cars...Nah it's way to hot!
Day 2 Video from the Florida State Poker Championships
Heading back for Day 2 with all the three starting days combined, around 170 players remain.

The Florida State Poker Championships Recap
The Florida State Poker Championships have come to an end. The field started with 410 of the top players in Florida including pros Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, Michael
"The Grinder" Mizrachi, Robert Mizrachi, David "Chino" Rheem Tom McEvoy, Adam "Roothlus" Levy, Hayden Fortinni, and Mike Beasley. There were 3 day 1's and then Day 2 on Monday and the final day was today Tuesday August Tenth. I played some great poker. My day one was on Friday the 6th and I got no cards all day. I really had to work to make it through the day. Lots of bluffs and stealing pots kept me alive to day 2. I made it to Day 2 with about 33k in chips, the average at the time was around 54k. So I was a little short, but I knew I could make it work. Well, within the first few hours I was up to over 100k. I got there by knocking someone out with quad kings. I did make a mistake and took a hit, but played great when Mike Matusow came to my table and tripled up in 2 hands. At about 10 pm the money bubble burst at 41 people. I made the money! We still had 2 hours of play to go. I ended up the day with 259k, below average, but there were only 21 players left and I was moving on to day 3. Day 3 came and a few got knocked out early and I made it to the final 2 tables. The blinds and antes were very big and I wasn't getting any cards. Finally I picked up pocket Queens and pushed all in. I was just hoping to pick up the blinds and antes, but got called by 2 players. One person turned over Ace Queen and the Big Blind had Pocket Kings. The flop came with 2 aces and I was drawing dead. I ended up finishing in 17th place. Getting knocked out was bittersweet because had I won the pot I would have been chip leader and who knows what happens from there, but I cannot dwell on that. I played great and I am proud to be in the top 4 percent of players in Florida. Mike Matusow went on to win the tourney and losing to a world champion is nothing to be ashamed of. All in all, a great experience, and a great tournament! I would like to thank the Isle Casino and the staff for their great hospitality and putting on an incredible tournament. I would also like to thank Ultimate Bet for providing gear to give out. It was a great success all around. Thanks again to all my supporters and fans for rooting me on, it felt great. See you at the next tournament!

I am through to the final day of the Florida State Poker Championships!

Well, Day 2 has come to a close, and once again I am still alive. After playing from noon to midnight I am exhausted. It was definitely a tough day with pros Tom McEvoy, David "Chino" Rheem, Adam "Roothlus" Levy, The Grinder, Robert Mizrachi, and Hayden Fortinni all falling by the way side. I am also 2-0 on my "prop" bet competition with Gregg "Manimack" Mardirosian going out just outside of the money in 52nd place. He did a great job and played great though. I started the day with only 33,000 chips and was up and down all day. I finally got some cards and even knocked someone out with quad Kings. That never hurts. But once again my cards went dead and I had to play my heart out to keep my chips up to make it to the final 3 tables. Especially now that the antes are 1000 and the blinds are 6,000 and 12,000. We ended the day just after midnight with 19 people remaining. I have a chipstack of about 260,000. I think I am still below the average because some people got knocked out at the end chipping up some big stacks. I am looking forward to going back for the final day 3 and I am going to play my heart out. I played well, and whatever happens I am very proud of myself, even getting some praise from Mike "the mouth" Matusow. So wish me luck, and I will be posting again with my final results at the end of the day. Thanks to all who have supported me through this experience, it has been great! You are all dear and invaluable to me, you know who you are. In the picture, I am straight ahead with Mike Matusow to my left and Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson from the Super Bowl XII Dallas Cowboys. Great day at Mike Matusow's Deep Stack University Class
I won my way into an 8 hour class with the legendary Mike Matusow at the Isle Casino in Pompano. He taught us how to play deepstack poker for new changed laws in Florida. I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun. Tom McEvoy was there as well. They both taught me invaluable lessons that I am looking forward to bringing to the poker table. Today is also day 2 of the Florida State Poker Championships and I am going to bring everything I learned to the felt. I am really excited about it! Hopefully my next post will be from the money!

Day 1a of the Florida State Poker Championships is in the books.
Well, after a grueling 10 hours of poker, day 1a of the Florida State Poker Championships has come to a close. The day started with 114 entrants and ended with 47. The average chipstack is around 40,000 and I finished the day with 33,000. Gregg finished the day with around 27,000. It was hard work and long day, but I am happy with the way I played for the hands I was dealt. As a bonus I won a seat at Mike Matusow's Deepstack University class on Sunday. So that is a Bonus, and I am really looking forward to that. So now I am going to enjoy the weekend and mentally prepare for what should be a tough Day 2. See you then!
The Day is Here...
Today we will be playing in day 1a of the Florida State Poker Championships. The cards will be in the air at noon est. The structure of the tourney is as follows. 22,000 starting chips, 60 minute levels, 10 minute breaks every 2hours, 45 minute dinner break, and we play until 10 pm or 20% of the field. Whichever comes first. The prize pool is guaranteed to be at least 250,000 dollars, but I am assuming it will be higher. I am feeling good and really looking forward to my first live tournament back from the WSOP. Stay tuned on twitter and Facebook as I will post updates as often as possible. Next stop the Isle Casino in Pompano Beach!

The beginning of our Journey to the Florida State Poker Championships!
Here we are on our way, and our new "prop" bet for the tourney!
The "Prop" Bet Tour Continues...

Well I know you all have been waiting, but for our next prop bet we will be doing something dirty. Washing Cars, LOL. And a lot of them. The good people at AutoQuest in Fort Myers, Florida will be donating their cars for our bet so the loser can wash them all. We will settle our second bet on the tour at the Florida State Poker Championships at the the Isle Casino in Pompano Beach Florida. We will be playing the Main Event which starts Friday August 6th, with 2 more day ones to follow, and then play will continue with day 2 on Monday August 9th. As you all know I am up 1-0 in our bets to date. Will Gregg even the score and make me get my hands all sudsy at AutoQuest? Or will I continue my streak and knock Gregg out again to go up 2 to nothing. Stay tuned, and I will have updates on here and on twitter. We will also post some video in morning of the cars that the loser will have to wash. See you soon from Pompano Beach at the State Championships!

A little off poker post

I just wanted to take this time to congratulate my sister, Morgan and her fiancé Nick for getting married in Portsmouth, NH on July 31st. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast. I want to wish them happiness and health and a long prosperous marriage. They really are great together. Welcome to the family Nick.
